Dual Plate Wafer Type Check Valve
The dual plate wafer type check valve is made up of valve body, discs, stem and springs, and is connected by wafer type. Due to the short closing stroke of the valve discs and the springs’ attached, the water hammer phenomenon can be significantly reduced. It is mainly used for water supply and drainage pipe networks of municipal, industrial and high-rise buildings. Because its structural length is shorter than that of general check valves, it is convenient to install.

Both can be made from cast iron, ductile iron, cast steel as well as stainless steel
2. Water hammer pressure:
Wafer type check valve has less water hammer pressure than that of swing check valve.
3. Dimensions & Weight:
The dual plate check valve enjoys short face to face dimension, less weight. While, the swing check valves has longer face to face dimension and is heavier.
4. Installation (similarity and difference):
The dual plate wafer check valve is designed to be clamped between two flanges. And the Swing type check valve can installed to the piping by threaded bolts and flanges. Both valves can be installed vertically or horizontally.
5. Open pressure:
the dual plate wafer check valve can open fully at lower pressure. While the swing check valve need higher pressure to open completely.
6. Liability:
The dual plate wafer check valve is more liable compared with swing check valve due to its simple structure and less wallop during when being closed.

The discs of a wafer type check valve opens under the action of fluid pressure, and the fluid flows from the inlet side to the outlet side. When the inlet side pressure is lower than the outlet side, the valve discs automatically closes under the action of the fluid pressure difference and the power of springs to prevent the fluid from flowing backwards.
