Common Pipe Fittings

In different pipe fittings, in order to connect pipe sections or change the direction and diameter of the pipe, it is often necessary to use special parts, such as elbow (four-way), short pipe and reducer (size), flange and blind plate (8-shaped blind plate, etc., these parts are collectively referred to as pipe fittings.

What are the common pipe fittings? ‍

According to the purpose and material used, pipe fittings can be divided into steel pipe fittings, cast iron pipe fittings and non-metallic pipe fittings. Most refining and chemical systems use steel pipe fittings. Steel pipe fittings are suitable for pipelines with a variety of media and purposes. At present, the formed products mainly include pressed elbows, reducers and tees.

There are two types of pressed elbows: seamless elbow and welded elbow. Seamless elbow is made by pressing 10 steel, 20 steel or stainless steel seamless pipe on a special mold. It is divided into two types: 90° and 45° , The most commonly used is the 90° elbow. Welding elbows are formed by stamping and forming two tiles of 10 steel and 20 steel, and they are divided into two types: 90° and 45°. When the pipe diameter is small and the medium pressure is high, seamless elbows are often used, and welded elbows are often used for large-diameter, low-pressure pipes.

The short pipe is used in the chemical pipeline for the convenience of installation and disassembly. The diameter of the two ends of the short tube is not the same as the reducer. The reducer includes concentric reducer and eccentric reducer, which can be stamped with seamless steel pipe or formed by coil welding of steel plate.

The three links include equal diameter three links and reducing three links.

Commonly used fittings on small-diameter pipelines include steel unions, steel threaded short joints, steel pipe clamps, etc. In addition, valves are also one of the most widely used fittings in pipelines.

In addition, for the convenience of pipeline installation and maintenance, pipe flanges need to be installed in different pipe fittings. A flange cover is installed at the end of the pipeline. The flange cover and the flange have the same size, and the blind plate is inserted in the two flanges. between.
